Little Acorns Team

Director/ Two’s Teacher:  Mare Perpiglia “Mrs. P “

Mare began her career in early childhood education twenty-two years ago as a preschool and Montessori teacher. Mare studied early childhood and Montessori education at Chestnut Hill College. While raising her daughter she remained active in the field of education as an assistant director, director, substitute, music teacher, toddler teacher and a pre K 3 +4’s teacher. She also served as a direct support teacher for autistic and trauma affected children. A few years later, Mare knew it was time to fulfill her life long dream of opening her very own school. She owned, operated and performed as the director and lead teacher. Mare implemented the Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Waldorf approach into her preschool vision. More years quickly passed and although Mare’s school was a huge success, Mare wanted to redirect her focus back to her family. Mare then returned to the Delaware and Montgomery county intermediate unit plus various preschools on the main line. For Mare, providing a nurturing and caring classroom, where each child feels valued and self confident is paramount to her teaching. Mare wants her students to get messy, gain independence, take risks and achieve the ultimate goal which is to have a life time love of learning. When Mare steps away from the classroom you can find her at the ice rink watching her daughter ice dance, roam the beaches and town of Cape May with her husband, belt show tunes in the halls, catch a show on Broadway, play fetch in the yard with her dogs and get carried away with “this is us “and “NJ Housewives” episodes. Mare is excited for the reopening of Little Acorns. She looks forward to rebuilding with her dynamic team of teachers. She looks forward to meeting new and returning families. Mare is confident Little Acorns will again become a strong community and the year will be filled with joy and happiness.
