Recently the children had fun building a playground for their pretend pet snakes. Working together they came up with lots of fun designs. Although it looks like they are “just playing” they exploring lots of science and math concepts. The added bonus was working with a partner and cooperatively coming up with a plan for the playground.

Happy Thanksgiving to all our family and friends. We had so much fun in our classrooms this month! The children all made Thanksgiving placemats to use in school and then to take home. It was so nice to learn more about all our little friends through pictures. We also played lots of fun games this month like “Stuff The Turkey”.
We have been busy this month learning about how families are the same and how they are different. The children have also been working on learning their addresses and phone numbers using fun activities. We are excited about the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. In Lunch Bunch we made a “Thankful” tree and talked about all the things there are to be thankful for.

We have been enjoying talking about families and homes along with a variety of holiday traditions. The children worked on learning phone numbers and addresses. We shared pictures of our families on our classroom family tree. During December we were busy with activities related to Christmas, Hanukkah, Diwali, and Kwanzaa. Special emphasis was placed on the sharing and caring part of the holiday season as we made ornaments from toilet paper rolls for the members of Green Tree Church.
